Temp 36 – snow late PM 1/4″
Cleaned kitchen – bath – TV & Living room. Made 3 kinds of date pudding for Mary Page’s shower.

Guests had to park in lower drive as there is still 10″ snow on upper drive.

Mary got nice baby things. I have her the afghan I bought from Marion County Historical Society Country Store. Played games Mary Jordan told me about. Serve Martini & Rossi – Aste Spumanti sparkling wine to toast Mary.

Diane had a date – Faye & Jan’s girls playing basketball against each other- Lil in Fla – Kass recouping from D&C. But 10 of us had a ball.

Had 3 wedding appointments Charlie Dunn in with key man insurance plan – Told him I wasn’t interested – $3,000 a year for $50,000 – Corp pays premium & makes money available to buy out stock when I die. I may consider it later.

Caryl Jacobs in to tell me they are having a trustee appointed to spend their money., But she says rent comes out first! I’m too soft in letting her get away with this.

To Mary Jordan’s for dinner. Roast, peas, cranberry salad. Mashed potatoes & gravy – cream pie – delicious.

Spent all day on Employees Handbook revision, writing job descriptions & making out budgets. Gross last year $523,000 but receipts $477,000 – Diff is the 80% of $72,000 in out orders. That goes immediately to FTD & Teleflora. At 25% gives $116,000 for payroll not including me or taxes on payroll.

Called Kathi to tell her our plans for coming in March. Has house mostly cleaned up from fire. Asked Bob to go to Monterey with us since he won’t just be back from school – It was cancelled.

In to shop at 8 – with Judy who came here. Picked up Pat & Chris., To Waldo & picked up Jan & Laura. To Columbus Ohio Center – where Union Station was – Spacious modern new building – Hyatt Hotel adjoining.

Bill Hixon designing & talking common sense. In PM I went to hear Layne Longfellow on “Coping with Stress” – very entertaining & thought provoking.

Ran into Dick Straub. Introduced him to Gary Oyler.

Home about 7.

Called David & said he could rent RV – motor home – for California trip if that’s what he wanted – but he decided to take my station wagon.

Started on delivery about 4:15. At hospital had a dead battery & had to get it jumped. 2 country deliveries – but didn’t take the one near Essex. We will phone it to Richwood tomorrow.

Got to Straub’s for dinner about 6:15 but Richard didn’t come until 7:00. Pork roast & orange rice – delicious. He is very bitter about being fired from Caffco.
