ay Foertsch & son out with chain saw – cut apple trees by shack – big locust by burning spot, hawthorne by river, choke cherry by pnd, willow & honey locust by wildflower garden – netted about 2 cords of wood.

I set out daffodils that had been forced on bank by greenhouse.

Helped Howard clean lily pool – First time since David waterproofed it with plastic.

In to Marion Tech at 3:30 to see Sharp copier that Don Cottingham was replacing. Offered us $5,495 copier they had been using for $2,495 & our Apeco copier.

To see Vincent Price as Oscar Wilde but too tired to go to reception after.

President Reagan shot by Hinkley as he left hotel in Washington. Bullet lodged in lungs. He will be OK but press Secy Brady took head shot (like Steve sands) 2 others shote – also close range.

Historical Society meeting at Tri-Rivers. Good turnout – about 100. Priscilla Hewetson – history of music in America – Yankee Doodle – used for parodies in all eras. Peg Rinker’s social committee fantastic array of cookies.

Supper with Jordans & Hecker at Turoffs – Lunch with Mother.
