Kathy up at 8 & we heard her out at the tree oh-ing & ah-ing & then she started bringing things in to see & we were Oh so surprised at them all. David soon up & bedlam prevailed. Mother, Daddy & Mary over about 9 & we all opened presents. I gave Wally a slipover sweater, corduroy pants & car compass. He gave me Max Factor make-up kit., Lelong perfume – blouse Kathy a match. Mary checks for $1 for wevery week until school is out. We gave Mother & Daddy a plant lamp – copper base. Daddy gave everyone $5 – Ruth a part wool blanket. Mary H a card table – Mother 2 blue sheet blankets. Had dinner at Mother’s & played with toys. Rode out to Rueben Smith’s to see huge amyrillis. Romines up in evening. Kids played until late.
