Ray called at noon to see if I’d like to go to Galion with him to see Johnny Gill & Hazel Chase his lepidopterist friends. And although the weather was snowy & drifts all over & still spitting, we went. Wally went to Romines to keep Flo company.
Stopped at Johnny’s and he’s even more of a kid than I expected. Looked like he should have a cookie in one hand & ball bat in the other rather than emitting all those scientific names. His mother was lovely & very tolerant of his hobby. He got all his Riker mounts down to show Ray – Not nearly so well put together as Ray’s collection but some very interesting specimens. Not many labels but he knew the story of each one.
He said Hazel Chase goes to bed at dark because of her eyes & he didn’t call her. I was a little disappointed but enjoyed Johnny. We were invited back & I know Ray is looking forward to going chasing with them this spring.
Snowed all the way home.
