MCHS 9:00 – 4:00 7 hrs Standing Rules
Started on finishing Job Description for Exec Director but realized it tied into Standing Rules so finished them just in time to meet Huber Board at the former Lincoln Mercury Bldf just N of Trinity Baptist Church. Looks promising – 10,000 sq ft including offices, room for auditorium, parts & 10,000 vacant lot – and adjacent to True Home & Heritage Hall – $100,000 – but without organization support it seems irresponsible.
Gave Norm info he asked for on MCH Society Board members & activities so he can include in 990 IRS Form. To HH – Margaret & Eula with more complaints. To restroom remodeling is unplanned & Jack decided on Pink! CLeaned computer of files not relevant. Me Mary at Isaly’s for supper. Left purse at HH so she loaned me $10. She had been out AM to tell me Jeanette – Jessie Baker’s friend died of flu!

Spent afternoon sorting & cleaning up disks trying to find story I wrote about my Girl Scout Days – no luck, but ended up with 2 boxes blank tape after deleting duplicate files & consolidating.
Wrote check – bank statement came & have my balance back up to $4,000.

But only 6 people to hear their great presentations. Had owl pellets for us to dissect & chart to compare bones we revealed to the skeleton of a vole. Brought it home for Howard & John & Jed to see.

Pancakes & bacon for b’fst. David & I walked in Ralph’s meadow hunting cow patties to make manure tea – no luck, but he laid the last section of old brick with Beldon Brick. Also put safety strap on driveway slope by mailbox. Got Ky Fried chicken, cole slaw & potato salad for lunch & we ate on patio. Seemed odd without Jed & Josh.
Collapsed when they left – my 75 yrs caught up with me – But revived by 7:30 to host MCHS Exec Comm to get our beefs about Jack on the table.

43-72 B’ful Sunny
Finished dry stone wall on west side of driveway using left over stones. Transplanted Alaska daisies & creeping phlox into that bed.
Mowed upper lawn & below terrace & paths all thru the woods getting ready for official visit of Dean Frances Hazard, Dr. Tabor Allison & Peg Henderson – development officer of Ohio State University Marion.
They cam at 1:30 & we waqlked first to East end & then down to West end & around pond. Took about 45 minutes – then into house, but so warm in here we adjourned to beech deck to discuss OSUM accepting Terradise as part of its Nature Center. Dean Hazard enthusiastic about the site – “more than I expected” – Showed them letter from Guy Denny notifying me the council had awarded Terradise Ohio Nature Area* status. Peg will set up appointment next week with Trust Officesr. I should have deed & my will available. They will survey & match any endowment I contribute.
Pooped after they left. Enjoyed b’day cards & letters from Kathi & Bob & Dave & Dee.
David send repayment on loans as my b’day gift.
