To Caledonia PO to pick up pkg from David containing copy of King Book, typeset index & typeset sales brochure. God bless US Postal service & David’s know-how & dedication. To see Ron Laipply about printing book – but binding would be a problem so he opted not to prepare a bid. Then to see John Shumaker at Dresser Industries Marion (Marion Steam Shovel) to get permission to use (& the names) of the 25 Yr Club roster. Ended up with John offering to try to get Dresser to buy 100 copies. Also offered to make exhibit of machines at work in coal field 1/4 scale & have it for June 1 – Also offered their archives to MCHS. Home for “brunch”. Called Geo Brown to jog his introduction to book. Will have it later today. Boosted his family’s commitment to 100 books! Hard bound. Took Sales brochure to Boy Scout office – Wayne Fowler ran 1,000 copies on blue paper. Took them to Heritage Hall for volunteers to fold. To Wyandot Inc & picked up George’s introduction. Home & called David to report on progress & ask him to contact printer in Cinci to gear up for production.

While at HH – Dick West showed me part of the “loot” from Quaker Oats – Fantastic.

Ted Parsell & Linda out 3 times before we got Howard’s will right – Put names of relatives in document, but no bequests. Changed executor to Pasell instead of the Trust – also signed the Trust papers with me as beneficiary- & MCHS as beneficiary if i predecease him. I am the “trust advisor”.
Carpet Plus men here. Washed all windows & took out & stored storm windows – cleaned all carpets & 4 chairs $152.
Mary out with letter & pictures from Kathi – Had pot roast for supper. Planted Alaska seed in burned areas across road.
Mowed lawn with John Deere mower – works fine after tuneup.

Worked on sales brochure for Geo W King’s book. Got it in mail in Marion Barks Rd PO just before 5- Up to David to get it back to me by Fri.
Rep of BancOhio called suggesting HH Bonds for Howard’s trust. First told me they pay 8% – I asked several questions be couldn’t answer so called me back after conferring with superior. HH bonds don’t pay 8%- only 6+% – tax implications complicate handling but I think cashing some each year is best. I think BancOhio should be able generate 8% at least since they will charge about $2,500 a year to manage the trust.

To Terradise Office* with David. Gave him checks for $3,800 o pay his past due Social Security taxes. Loan for 2 yrs @ 7.5%. Left about 10 after nice gal helped me get out of parking lot where truck blocked me.
Went to sleep in chair so was late for dinner with Mary at Isaly’s- Picked up Willis Nye for Huber Board meeting. Peter Norman from Worthington Fund Raising Company made presentation. We need a “case” that will appeal. We don’t have a property to relate to now. Usual turn off by board when I asked for permission to use mailing list to solicit orders for King Book. Harry Mauk suggested EHMA purchase 50 books- That also had no support. Nor did Mr. Norman’s presentation!
Felt sorry for Willis-
