Picked Mary up & headed for Forest – Joined Jessie, Martha & Kenton friend on [sic] drove to Jeanette Bunnel’s A-frame house N of Forest. Had good potluck lunch before driving back to woods – And it was a great one – listed 30 spring wildflowers. Every step crushed wild leek (Ramp) Surprised at hepatica- Acute – everywhere & so robust – Lots of spurred violet – rostrata – bishop’s cap & trillium – both dutchman’s breeches & squirrel corn- Surprised at Christmas fern – Also brittlefern spinulose wood fern-
Came past Killdeer woods N of Morral on way home to check on Trilliums – white carpet satisfying.

To Region 2 OAHSM meeting with Helen Kaufman, Eula Rhodes & Margaret Gracely. The Telfers, Fogts & Betty Gorsuch also went. At R.B. Hayes Presidential Center in Fremont. About 50 there- Down 25 from last year & 75 from 2 yrs ago. Marvelous Museum & home – 4 generations of Hayes lived there. Education panel presentation a little thin. Jay Snider- Kathi’s classmate of 1959 is the curator but didn’t realize who he was until talking at closing reception at Dillon house. Son of Mildred & Bruce of Trinity!
To Fairgrounds at 6:45 for All American Day – 4H Fund Raiser – I was one of the nominees for Royalty – each $1 contibuted was a vote. I didn’t campaign but felt a little foolish when the other 7 candidates were introduced and I wasn’t – But sat with Mayor Brown & Charlie Evers (who lost out to black Southland Chrysler auto dealter) & Doc Brown cornered him [dealer] to finance program book for Centennial.
Letter from Dave with final payment on his car loan. $20 on shipping charges for lawn mower. Well written – His writing course sank in!

Set out more snapdragon plants – pulled up lambs ear sedum, myrtle & blue bells. Mowed with big mower – Frustrated because David lowered mowing height & I couldn’t move it back. Got stuck by little pond – Called Ralph Boger & he pulled it out & readjusted height. Mowed paths through woods & upper lawn – leaving sprint beauties.
Entered brick purchases into database – to catch up from while I was gone – from 748 to 865!

Howard with me across river. I dug about 8 buckets wonderful rich soil. Set out plants- pansies, snaps, dusty miller- planted sees of baptisia, silene regia- yellow & orange butterfly weed – purple coneflower. All from Kensel Clutter.
Brought membership list up to date – Have 412 entries now – 112 new ones since May 1989.

B’fst on deck with David watching dove build nest. Then across river to check on wood duck box for nesting. In water so couldn’t see in it. Met Ralph Boger – he had just found a prehistoric tool [sketch with sharp indicated on one side] grey granite. Walked to river to see how course has changed since 1948.
In to shop and David moved computer to lower level. I had finished prelims for Reprint & corrected index so sent them back with him. He brot clock & modem back out here from Heritage Hall & re-installed in my computer.
Back in to Heritage Hall to host Popcorn Museum – Elderfun group from Presbyterian Church to your & woman with boy in wheelchair. Was too tired to stay for J. Hickson’s steerint committee for Education Division. Bought 430 plants & peat moss at Central Tractor & Bloom builder at Odd Lots.

Finished prelims for Reprint – Edited Geo K Brown’s & rewrote my intro – Edited index.
Took Howard to grocery. Stopped at BancOhio & told Wayne Crum I was not impressed with options financial advisor offered to invest Howard’s bonds.
Cooked chicken thighs.

Started mowing about 3:30 – across road. David in about 5:30 & took over while I picked up pizza. Ate on deck. Walked thru woods – David lifted big limbs downed by ice storm in Feb – Put them on river bank for erosion control.
“Cleaned up” my directories on computer & gave me a lesson on DOS & how to access GMK3

Nice picture & story in Star about Terradise. Star Agenda listed Open Garden for today – so had severl groups tour.
Linda 7 husband out to fish in pond.
Tom out about 11:30 – Spray fertilized lawn, painted lawn furniture, put up “No trespassing” signs that Mary brought out after 3 trailer Park girls picked armfuls of daffs, tublips, hyacinths & trilliums.

Tom Wagner out about 10:30. talked about walking tour brochure for corporate centennial. Then he really started working – cleaned greenhouse walk – pool & walks with clorox & soap. Put up flagpole – piled branches down in woods & burned them, cleaned euyonoumous bank below Beech deck, painted white metal lawn chairs, brought redwood chairs & benches from shed, weeded & fertilized upper lawn – see below.
