Copied my Warren Roberts sale tape for Ruth Foos.
Took Howard to grocery & then drive past Claridon Prairie- denoted species blooming. Mailed slides & letter to Charlie King about silene regia . Copied to Tommy Hemmerly. Answered letter from Glenn Patten about PO & CDM*.
To HH at 2:00 to meet Cindi Noyes with her poster concepts for Fall Fair. A couple of them possibilities – her chg would be $30 for camera ready.
Worked with Mary H re-entering Brick data base through 690. After she left at 3:30 found a disk with entries through 680 – all we thought we had lost that far.
Took car to Tuffy Service catty-cornered from HH – they said only needed oil change – $16.00 – Handy
Met with Helen Kaufman at 4:15 for 2 hrs. Laid out committee assignments under the 4 function plan – Education – Membership – Operating & Finance – Added Legal affairs.
Stopped at Wendy’s for supper & then to OSUM Prairie for Marion Nature Society Tour led by Tabor Allison & he’s good. Dick & Mary Cooper there. Concerned for Dave with Iraq crisis. Told them about plans for Terradise with ODN & OSUM. Grocery shopped at Big Bear – Home at 10.

Did 2 loads clothes. Letters to Dorothy Isaly & George thanking for support on book by paying extra $2 for their hardbounds. In to HH where Mary met me & we worked on brick.dbf until 5:00. Then she started to my house to cook sweet corn while I copied map for Biological Survey & King letter. When I left building I forgot my purse – Had to call Dick West from Tuffy’s Car Service across street to come back to let me in. Had to wait while he ate supper. So Mary wondering why it took me 45 minutes to get home.
Had corn, Wendy’s baconburger & bean salad. Then we worked on bricks.dbf for about an hour.
Watched – Hiroshima-Out of the Ashes on TV – From Japanese perspective – chilling.

Mary & I to Akron. Visited Doris & Stu & then they took us to lunch at ChiChi’s. Had chimichanga.
Then to the Bookseller on Exchange St. Mary sold $35 books to them & $75 to dealer in old school across street. Fantasy story paperbacks.
Then to Seiberling Park to see the herb garden – Large beds. Labelled rocks (glacier remnants). He’s been p[ark employer for 21 yrs & finally found his niche.
Home about 5:30 & had supper here.

Wrote letters to Jack Telfer & Sandy Davies about lobby changes at Heritage Hall that would move pediments that are over stamp windows. Also made copies of other letters to M. Meseke, WIlbert Snyder to Jack. Updated list of officers & trustees of MCHS & wrote to Jack about retiring officers & trustees leaving us chance to have a “Swan Song” since he cancelled the August Board Meeting.
Supper with Mary at Perkins – Then she accompanied me to Heritage Hall to re-install the computer. Started up fine- but blew fuse after about 3 minutes. Bought sweet corn on way home for supper tomorrow.

David called at 10:30 saying to meet Karen & kids at Women’s Bldg at State Fairgrounds at 12:30 – So did & picked up MCHS computer. He couldn’t find anything wrong with it. Started to walk thro fairgrounds but I got a cramp in groin & every step was agony. So limped back to car. Came home thro Ashley to check Power Ribbobn Co, for Fall Fair. Leftovers for supper.
