Thursday, May 7, 1987 David and I met Bob and Sue Harter- became lifelong friends.
Up at 7:00- breakfast with David and he went to Columbus for last day of Funeral Directors Convention. I dressed in pioneer dress and Grandma Sheneman’s plush cape and taking wooden churn and ship and covered wagon models and rag rug started for Waldo school and Pioneer days. Ruth Oppenheimer really staged a great show- dancers, magicians, Harry Bard’s miniature horses, Carroll Neidhart as Schoolmaster, candlemaker Bob Hartley that grows Prairie plants, spinner, quilters, country store. I told story of families trip from Germany.
Stopped at Betty Black’s to pick up dresses, etc. from Helen Atchinson’s estate. To Hughes-Kuback Funeral Home to call on Mary Williams Brant. To courthouse for Huber committee supper with Mary. Routed about 150 orders- 4 routes. Home at 11:00.
