Our first sight of Halley’s Comet as the sky cleared after 16 days of rain. Mary brought her telescope out about 8:00 p.m. and set it up on the hood of her car across the road. Found the Pleiades and just to the right was the fuzzy area they tell us is the comet- a head-on view with no tail- hope the viewing gets better.
Dave woke me with the news that Cat had five kittens but one was born dead and two others had deformed hind feet.
David sent back my Emmanuel M. Sheneman weather records column- liked most of his revisions but I revised again. Spent pm at Center and checked 1934 record heat stories.
