To Columbus at 8:00 for executive committee meeting before board meeting. Finishing regular regional meeting goals.
Met Jim Miller in parking lot of Ohio Historical Society and he commended me on Northwest Ordinance Salute in Marion. Said it was outstanding among ones he had an info on.
To visit Sue and Bob Harter on Buttermilk Hill Road north of Delaware. She had supper ready for me and then we went out to their plant propagation area. Unbelievable variety of herbs and perennials- they really loaded me down. Tired but it’s finally cooler.

Dave sails on the Hoel.
Call from Kathi about noon saying “Picture ourselves with Addie on Doc at San Diego watching the US USS Hoel sailing.” Dave is headed for the Persian Gulf where American warships are escorting Kuwait tankers through the Gulf. One was hit Friday a.m. Kathi was crying- both of her kids in stressful situations.
Supper with Mary at Michael’s Steakhouse and then we shopped at mall for a simple cotton dress. Too late, wore me out. Got another goldfish for pool.

Finished planting the last flat of bedding plants- white begonias in lowest terrace. Soil so compacted I had to mix sand and peat in each hole.
Feel sure Ray Switzer won’t be writing thank you notes to those who helped the Salute, so I did starting: “Just wanted to add my thanks to Ray switzer’s.”
Heat so oppressive that I spend leisure time in rec room.
Got order for Hildreth Genealogy from Winnie Gohde, wife of Glen, who is son of Howard, son of Gaitha and George, daughter of Uncle Meck*- mother’s brother. Live in Clinton, North Carolina- summer in Littleton Colorado.
