Temperature 75 a.m. 89 p.m. Sultry
Fertilized flower beds around house with dry 14-14-14 & hoed it in. Transplanted the intermediate Iris (purple) from front bank to base of stone wall west of greenhouse. Did crossword puzzle and read paper. Called Karen. Hadn’t talked to her since her grandmother died. They have cleared out her home and will probably rent it. Harvey owns it. Balanced checkbook, called Kathi- letter from Dave says his he’s learning French, has seen flying fish, spends time in radar room and bunk. Told her to tell Kristi to invite Mary and me to parents weekend if she wants us to come. Worked on MCHS membership records. Mowed for 2 hours- bath, tv, bed.

Across river to back of property where Ralph Boger, Carl Lehner and Norm Fogt were loading a half ton boulders on Harry Bard’s trailer to take to McKinley Park to mount cast aluminum Bicentennial marker.

Picked up eyeglass ear protector for Howard at Loeffert’s. Left tape and minutes at Willis Nye’s, and Huber biography at Dr Mautz. Took Virgil with me to pick up my car at Inskeep after meeting Linda Banks at Harding home. She had framed posters of Northwest Ordinance 1787.

Got pruners at Sears, cookies and dress at Meijers, three goldfish at Woolworths. Lazy afternoon.

Huber committee meeting at 10:00. Took collections management policy and Huber biography. Mark had September 1st program set. Marker will be dedicated August 13th.

Took books and copyright applications to John Cottrell to send in. To shop and wrote news release on committee meeting and took it to Kathy H at the Star. Picked up the bound “Buckeye
Eagle” there. Took Hemmerly’s check for ad in September 1st program to Mark Bauer. Bought fertilizer 14-14-14 and corn $1.50 a dozen at Marion Milling.

Mailed 25 letters to Hemmerly cousins- no reunion this year.
Wrote up minutes of Huber meeting from tape recorder. Last day of Marilyn Monroe affair with Kennedy.
