Huber Association meeting at 9:00 at Marion Historyl Center. Willis hurt because John Watkins asked Harry Mauk to preside instead of him as he is chief executive officer! After went to Smorgasbord with Willis and Wanda for excellent salad bar. Home in the heat- 99° and after talking with George K. Brown realized we can’t move George Snyder and he wrung promise from me to co-sign a note for $58,000 up to $10,000 to finance purchase of post office to match his $10,000. Madge Guthrey also $5,000. Presented it that way at MCHS board meeting at 7:00 but they came up with using her presidential endowment fund and Center as collateral. for the loan. But at some time eight of them them said they would sign note.

Lunch with Mary, Walt, Olgua and Janice at 3:30.
Worked on MCHS newsletter. In at 2:00 for meeting with Commissioners and County prosecutor Jim Slagle. Looks like MCHS will have to borrow $58,000, give it to Commissioners to buy post office and hold a mortgage on it. Nut we can only get a 5-year lease. So what about improvements we make? Definitely do not want it to go to public auction. It is George Snyder’s shortsightedness that’s causing the holdup.
Jerry Ballinger had to leave so called me in evening for recap.
