Dedication of Marion Prairie at OSU campus as an Ohio Nature Site at 10:00. Good to have David there along with Division of Natural Resources men Guy Denny, Steve Goodwin, Richard Mosley and Ralph Ramey of Glen Helen. Guy said Charlie King sent his greetings to me. Charlie insists that without Ted Myers and I conspiring to have 1986 5th Prairie conference in Marion and my gift of $1,000 to a fund to support Marion Prairie, Dean F. Hazard would have plowed under to plant corn by now. At 2:00 to Columbus for Executive Board meeting. Richard Frankoviglia as new head of Local History Office so we reviewed all committee activities to give him background. Called Dave and Dee and Kathi for her birthday.

finally rain .8 in by midnight
For 35 years I’ve looked for deer at Terradise- this was the day! As I tracked a red spotted purple butterfly with my glasses I spotted a doe and fawn drinking at the edge of the river on the far side. Gorgeous golden color- they took off at my movement even in the house, flashing white tails!
Call from Peggy Combs- IRS straightened me out- it’s Huber Articles of Incorporation that have to be amended not Constitution. Spent most of day finishing up the re-application. This is for tax exempt status with IRS and nonprofit status with Ohio.
Huber board meeting lasted from 7:00 to 9:30. Todd and Dean Stockwell guests. David here when I got home. Installed my modem and sorted out dBaseIII for me.

temperature 95°
Hoed around all plants to create a dust mulch. Forecast says maybe rain Tuesday. Need 8 and 1/2 in here to bring us up to normal- eleven and a half inches in Cincinnati.
Worked all day on Huber application for federal tax exempt status that was returned for more info. Most of it was already provided.
In at 4:00 to copy it and to make 100 copies of Marion map of 1939 for class of ‘48 and class of ‘33. Mary helped. We ate at Wendy’s. Tried to call all Huber board members for meeting tomorrow. Kathi called- Bev and Don got her Alaska book so don’t send
