Spent the day at home except to go with Mary and Geneva to Miley’s carpet warehouse. Mary getting new living room carpet.
That fertilizer I put on was too strong and killed some begonias.
Mowed lower lawn. First mowing since early June. Grass has greened and grew- rain totaled four inches but River still shallow. Corn and soybeans looking much better. Bill Nolan called- won’t be at board meeting. Tom Kuhn called for my reaction to certification recognition meeting.

Sprayed the Mullein plants in the front lawn with weed and feed. Never saw such a thick stand of mullein. Hope there is some grass under them.
In to Center at 1:00. Lucy and John Chaney from Pittsfield Massachusetts brought original Harding poster given by Marion County Bank in 1921- can replace our copy. Learned Lucy’s family Brown’s bought butter from Benoni Stokely when she was a little girl.
Supper with Mary at Perkins. Bought shoes to wear to wedding and took my dress to Mary’s. She says I look okay in it.

To Center to finish up mailing on position of MCHS that John Watkins told the star the Commissioners are waiting for- why didn’t he tell us? Up at 6:15 and left for Carrollton at 7:30. Martha Jones hosted certification committee on stone porch of McCook house. Chris Runberg Smith there- not very diplomatic in tearing Tom Kuhn’s presentation apart. Richard Frankoviglia the perfect diplomat. Decided to play down the pilot program and change name to recognition. When I walked in Kris and Pat Cummins were making their usual snide remarks.
Stopped at Wonder Gardens on way home and bought annuals but they are too far gone I’m afraid.
