Monday, October 30, 1989
Ralph Hedges started on kitchen. Got all paper off and one coat paint on ceiling.
Ordered paper and it will be in tomorrw.
Plumbers out to fix leak under sink and had to get to sink in Howard’s room. Impossible without moving stuff he’s accumulated. Started cleaning and burning- what a mess! Every crossword puzzle book he ever had! Dead mouse on counter. boxes of newspapers. and 20 years of accumulated dirt!
Bath and in to Heritage Hall about 6:00 to show guides what to guide the Society members to see. Wore dress Dee brought me. Lots of nice comments. Only about 55 people for first membership meeting on Main level. Too tired to really enjoy it.

Sunday, October 29, 1989
Stopped at Majestic and decided on the butterfly and flowers wallpaper with crayons stripe for bottom. Then to Heritage Hall to decorate for Halloween. Carroll Neidhart made Tombstone out of my cabinet packing case.

Steve from Voissard’s out to install sink and dishwasher.

Thursday, October 26, 1989
Installed the base cabinets.
Met Steve at Wolohan’s when I went in to pick.
Dishwasher delivered- it is not the model Ed Murphy showed me on the floor.

Tuesday, October 24, 1989
Cabinets from Wolohan’s delivered early and Steve & Randy installed the wall cabinets.
Ordered an open bookcase unit at Wolohan’s. Has to be custom-made- four to five weeks! Don’t know why Steve couldn’t build one. Picked up the $160 cast iron sink. Bone color.

Monday, October 23, 1989
Steve Smith and helper Randy tore out the old cabinets. I saved the island on wheels and put in rec room. The tall cupboard for the garage and the little cabinet by range. Rest of cabinets taken to Heritage Hall. Nice weather boys ate on beech deck.
Ralph Hedges brought six wallpaper books out when he came to measure the kitchen. Does it in square feet instead of rolls!

Sunday, October 22, 1989
Worked all day dismantling kitchen. Washed all dishes before packing them. Raked and mowed upper leaves to keep them from being tracked in. I’m beat! Steve Smith called and said he’d be here at 8:00.

Saturday, October 21, 1989
42 degrees cloudy windy
58-hour week caught up with me. Slept until 10:30 and even then didn’t have any pep. Puttered. At 2:00 loaded the two stray kittens and took them to Humane Society. gave them $10 donation.
Stopped at Sears and looked at dishwasher for me and range for Bordeaux. Went to library and checked Consumer Reports. Bears Karen out in recommending KitchenAid. Went to B&R for KitchenAid and bought it at $399- Sears were $499. Stopped at Wolohan and bought faucet for sink and ordered pulls for cabinet. $100 Stopped for McDonald’s- barbecue rib sandwich. Mary called had talked to Dee. Dave had called her earlier- had security duty in Marina area of San Francisco- worst hit part of city. Sailing today for British Columbia Vancouver.
Cleaned out cupboards over refrigerator and washer and dryer to get ready for crew Monday.
Letter from Kathi. They got Bob’s 3-year contract officially voided this week. Maybe that will get things going for them to leave.
