Same ol’ poohed-ness after lunch – bed all p.m. Trella home about 5- we ate, felt better & helped (a little) mowing lawn.

Some better a.m. till noon – then foo – slept all p.m. – no good. Trella in all day, with kids, till 6:45. We worked out some possible Herm cartoons tonite.

Rain again! Foo. Straight home from business; i.e. Morrison & trying see Postmaster. Bed 1 hr after lunch; then felt able to type awhile. Bowels – hadda take enema. Sandy, Dad, Paris all out for long (Paris ‘n Dad fished) visit tonite. Trella worked like dawg.

Up & to Dr. Morrison’s – felt rather lousy while we checked (in mud) Hartford St. Irises. In bed 3 hrs p.m. – sleepin’! Better after supper. We looked posies here, I pomed etc. a bit.

Rain – night & day! In to Dr. back out. To see Dr. Axthelm p.m., Trella along (she spent day in town). He’s interested neck – lump?? Viewed Iris between showers; sleepy! Didn’t do much else – no pa-zoom.

We nearly killed ourselves at acres today – mowing & preparing ground & planting (took tractor out for 1st time) At 954 awhile tonite (Dad & Cora too) & Rockwells. Dead tonite, both of us.

Felt only so-so- didn’t do much. Trella go at lot o’ work done, working after dark with outside lites on! Myriad company, everyone ‘cept immediate families.

Sandy & Paris spent most ‘o p.m. here! Sandy “got” her Pony Kodak & accessories – thrilled. We talked. Paris fished: we got tractor out & kicked up strip, East, for seeding – I helped when she came home. Sandy drove car home – (mine) 1st solo. Bill & Erma Hutchman & friends here awhile.

Up 6, looking seedlings. In 9:30, as usual: & to Hartford Gardens. Paris got Chev at 229 & worked with Sandra p.m. – she passed driver’s test. Piiddled Irises, loafed p.m. To Bertha’s tonite, Trella & I & Fold’s, near Edison. Webbs* here when we got home.

Swell day again – till evening, some gas pains. Labelled Ray Hemmerly’s home Irises; left Chevy for [illegible] repair. Home in Trella’s car; Ralph Boger plowed & disced “West” garden! Looked posies, repaired trellis. Dad ‘n Fetter fishin’. Mary Jordan here tonite.
