Cloudy but warm. Noon, we went Acres; tonite, picked shingles with Bill Hutchman, shopped Cussins & Fern for tractor; then supped here & tore [sic?] Acres again; brush cutting & planting til dark. House with part of roof on! Looks like a house.

Nice again, but rain eve. (Hot, almost, today). To Westwood for lunch. We went Acres (they’re putting on sheathing); planted petunias & snaps here; then Trella sold a wedding. Joe Bingham came – trying to get Insurance on me again. ($99.02 quarterly premium.)

Sa-well day! We worked back corner at 552 am; tagged Trella’s garden iris seedlings, & gypsumed, too; then had “Uncle Roy and Aunt Zella” for dinner; picnic supper at Acres with Bill & Erma & kids & Harold & Mary. Trella bad headache – home at 8 – & she to bed.

Nice again! Finished trip, ate & napped 954. Got handle for shovel & fix it tonite; we ate & dashed Acres for quick trip. House framed up ready for rafters! Home tonite.

($150.62) (1 hr o’time). Warm & fair!! Ate Crispin’s at noon, washed Westwood = fences mostly = & at supper there. Sandra Jean brief ride. Back to 552 about 5:15 or so. Trella to Webb’s “woods”; garden club pm, Acres tonite.

Day off (swapped wk-ends with Mic). Rainy, generally. Trella & I uptown a.m. – tiff at bank & home. I went Westwood, fixed hall lite, had lunch, fixed fences, setting 4 posts. Wewent Acres 2:30 (?) (supper there, too) & planted end of daffodils (1/2 hr. or better!), hiked, rowed down river & couldn’t row back; cut glass fixed n. window, & puttied 2. Trella had wedding appointment tonite.

Warm – & fair!!! TTo Westwood at “noon” eating & gardening. Tonite, to Acres, staking out garden, entertaining visitors. (aris has ’47 Chrysler as of today) Laying sub-floor now. Stopped Rockwell’s, Lloyd’s (about Roto-tiller).

Acres at noon – 1st wood on house. Home Show (Marion) tonite, with Rockwells. Too Sandra Jean to Doc Miller about her teeth – can be done he says, but it’s up to Sandra. Coldish & rainy yet.

Cold – snowed am a little, early. After work out to 954, desite weather, & put maybe 2–25# Vigoro on irises. Can see buds on Zuannenburg & Ultra! Weaver stopped tonite, back-plastering done. Trella to committee meet; I visited Dad ‘n Cora; & we went to see Dick Bender, who died Saturday nite.

Narsty, rainy, coolish day. We went Acres, 4 of us, about 9:30 (?) stayed til 5. Dinner in shcack. Got winda [window] about finished, planted Westwood things, etc.,etc. (Trella cleaned the jernt [joint] somemore). Visitors. Have 1 wall back-plastered & tarred. Home tonite, TV-garden-read, etc.
