LONG WEEKEND. Varnished kitchen cupboards last coat a.m., Trella sanding. Swell weather – we trimmed & burned at back garden area most ‘o p.m. Hemmerly’s here p.m. Greens here – & Hopkins too. Late supper. Cartooned tonite- Trella ironed slip cover.

Thursday, February 18, 1954
Swell day – seen mostly, fair & warm. Home for lunch – Guy from Standard Oil did furnace over- looks like action at last! Tonite, dubbed verses; Trella cleaned rec. room & I helped her put Xmas things away in attic, & made 3 seed flats.

Wednesday, February 17, 1954
Nice walking, tho 1/2″ snow fell after lotsa rain last nite. Poohed tonite. Pressed work clothes.

Tuesday, February 16, 1954
($145.24) Rained some. Thru at 12:30 – we toured about here & planted Mahonia (Mrs. Stafford) after dinner. After work, Trella & I got load o’ Hamilton stone. Trella to basketball game, coliseum with Kathy, & Maray Jordan tonite. I dubbed. Rained hard. Up again, till 12 or so.

Monday, February 15, 1954
Warm! 60+ ?? Sandy called me at PO for about sick, couldn’t go with us to Perkins Observatory tonite. Nice dinner tonite first, with birthday cake ala Trella.
Stopped Sandy with bush [sic?] & potato chips.

Sunday, February 14, 1954
Pomed briefly & made one complete “Herm” cartoon! (Trella did wedding). Merchants here p.m.; we went Hutchman’s for Anniversary Buffet Supper* (nice!) & Mary & Rocky gave me birthday photo album after.

[*Trella and Ray married 1 year now]

Rough mail. Felt lousy a.m. & again evening. Trella late, working.

Cold- 10 degrees ? a.m. To Hemmerly’s, Trella too, for lunch, L. Baker proud papa; Tanner about the 10th? Bed early tonite.

Thursday, February 11, 1954
Day off. FInished varnishing doors & trim. Got 1 coat over all kitchen cupboards! Tonite, me planted seeds & made support of pipes for flats & a shelf in greenhouse. Wrote Sandra Jean letter from her, Eff & $20 check from Herm.

Wednesday, February 10, 1954
Warm! & sunny. Trella violent headache tonite – me, no better, lack o’ sleep & tired. Napped. Then bed early too. Parks See order came. Kathy to Basketball game.
