Sunday, March 21, 1954
Cold! Slept loads last nite. “Officed” a.m. – letters, verses. P.M. after nap(!) we flew kites ‘n painted Westwood things till 6:15(?) Ate – I drews some o’ evening – gag panel. “Post” type. Still “achey” & funny.

Saturday, March 20, 1954
Colder. Had help! Home “for lunch”. Felt rotten tonite – grippy in legs, etc. Morgued, etc. Trella home (wedding) – 7:30 or so.

Friday, March 19, 1954
Tuff mail, rained most of day – poohed tonite. I managed 2 1/2 seed flats (made). Dead after bawth. Trella still cleaning at house.

Thursday, March 18, 1954
Took 6/8 Annual Leave. Warm day – nice. We almost whipped coldframe, dug lotsa Westwood things, p.m. Jim Weaver here about furnace tonite. Tired, Bed 10:15.

Wednesday, March 17, 1954
Day off. We started coldframe south of greenhouse – got auto tags, ‘Doney; & blocks for coldframe. Then Marion after lunch – I loaded & unloaded both cars – stones for Iris garden! Trella worked shop, home with headache. I slept 6:30-9! Then drew, morgued, etc & bed 12.

Tuesday, March 16, 1954
($149.90) (2 hrs overtime) Rented Westwood, at noon, effective April 1 to Haines. Saw Sandra Jean at noon – at Reidenbaugh’s. Joe Bingham at Nic-Nac 3:30, bought $3000 insurance. Sandy as beneficiary & Trella doesn’t like. Both “off” this evening – I’m a heel? Maybe a heel Dec-Feb 1953? Drew, stamped.

Monday, March 15, 1954
Cold again. We built fire again at Westwood – & into hot prospect while doing so! I napped, ate, trimmed trees ‘n brush, cleaned up, drew entire cartoon, morgued, ate, to bed. Trella to Burroughs reporting on Teale’s “North With the Spring”.

Sunday, March 14, 1954
Cold! We went 954, built fire, & used electric heater & painted old blue bedroom – then some cleaning & to Mary & Rocky’s for dinner. Home & painted 1st basement wall here. Loafed after supper.

Saturday, March 13, 1954
66? (aha guess) Warm. Built fire at 954, tho at noon so Trella couold work there – I went to, after work. Guys had trimmed brush our place meanwhile.

Friday, March 12, 1954
8 hrs 51″(?) – Last day ‘o count ‘n’ weight. Trella at Westwood cleaning all p.m. I planted stuff from there, evening; after supper, pomed & drew on gag-panel. We’re in financial straits again.
