Wednesday, May 26, 1954
After our “Xrays”, Trella & I labelled, or checked, all named varieties Hartford St. After dinner, we looked posies (here), go pumps running, watered, laid and temp badminton for kids. Trella’s cousin Donald Shuster stopped. I had good day – wrote, morgued tonite. Trella to Mary Jordan’s.

Tuesday, May 25, 1954
After “touring” our irises here, & Morrison visit, Trella & I inspected Hartford St. She stayed in & worked; I came on out, got pump from river to working. Lotsa pain tonite. Ray & Iva here; brought Sandra Jean’s ensemble for graduation, including case & flash attachment by Paris – Fine!!

Monday, May 24, 1954
Felt better! In to Dr’s. saw Paris, went Irising Hartford St, home. P.M., dubbed in photo album, & on installing river pump. Rocky & Mary helped awhile. Aft er supper, Paris & Sandy here long nice visit. Paris caught mess ‘o fish! (TRELLA HAD DR. CHECK NEC (NEW) LUMP A.M. – I DIDN’T NOTICE TILL TONITE)

Sunday, May 23, 1954
Still very few Irises out here. Worked in [illegible] awhile a.m. – most ‘o p.m. in bedf. Bill & Erma & family here for supper, picnic; Dad ‘n Cora ‘n Browns; Guy H– here too. Poohed tonite. Worked photo album awhile.

Saturday, May 22, 1954
Sleepy! To Morrison’s & quick check at Hemmerly garden. Paris on hand to see if I needed help! Home, slept all day but for meals & greenhouse ouside p.m. Trella worked weddings – me, alone till 8:30! Rocky brough kids later.

Friday, May 21, 1954
Nice day; warmer. To Doc Morrison 9:30 – 2nd treatment. Trella & I shopped a little. To shop then: I loafed while she corsaged. Ben & Johnnie Romine*here p.m. Trella in tonite – working: Hiss, Baker, Fred awhile, & Ruby & mines here! Dubed on lawn, p.m.

Thursday, May 20, 1954
1st Xray treatment at Morrisons, p.m. I went in alone – Trella had gone earlier. She went with me to Dr’s tho. Hartford Street patch after, then home 5 – no good evening. Staffords & Gorbys here evening. Saw Paris at Hemmerly’s a minute too. 1st named Irises out here. CAPITOLA & DYMIA.

Wednesday, May 19, 1954
Me, homed all day. We tried mow lawn a.m. – trouble with power mower (Ray Hemmerly fixed later). I dubbed 1 upholster kitchen stool, worked Irises p.m. Trella in; & again tonite, making 2 talks!! Paris & Sandy out for nice evening visit.. Sold Nature 5 of 5!

Tuesday, May 18, 1954
Rather lousy day- all told. Fertilized some around with Vigoro a.m.; p.m. we went PO, my check, to Morrison;s (go for treatment Thursday) – called Kapcar from Hemmerly’s- & Sandy. Wrote her letter – Paris delivered! Napped both sides ‘o supper. Rockwells here, short visit.

Monday, May 17, 1954
Nice still. I upped early, but it took enema for BM right after lunch! Dubbed planting, us, a.m. P.M. Trella in; I “whited” at greenhouse glass, dubbed Irises cultivating. Mac & Norm L. here evening – nice visit. Dad & Paris in rather late- been fishin! Trella ironed.
