David called yesterday & said Kass had called saying she didn’t need him to deliver for Valentine’s Day – 13 & 14 – I was really disappointed – Looked forward to being with him.
Mailed copies of announcement of Reg II meeting to committee – Tried to work on Spreadsheet – but know Jack won’t accept any report I generate takes the impetus away. So when Howard brought his income tax records it got me started on getting mine together – Looks like my taxes will be about $5,000 – by my calculations.
Howard’s about $800 unless the tust has more information.
Eula called – Diicussed who should head the Tranformation Function. I suggested John Hickson.
Had bacon & eggs & toast for supper.
Called Beverly Hemmerly to see about stopping by on our way to Fla. Found that Francis had a stroke last Fri – Out of his head & takes 24 hr care by family, Dr. says he could go anytime or can have more strokes.

Crew from Publication Dept of ODNR arrived at 10 – giving Royce time to do the living room before they came. They brought station wagon full of equipment to make a video tape. Set up in from of wind – under lights & with remote mike – Ed Hinton did the interviewing – Material will be used on radio – and for a video on “Outdoor Ohio”. They were enthusiastic about Terradise & brought out the reasons it has been named an Ohio Natural Landmark. After the filming we walked down in the woods – Surprised at the scouring action of the many floods this winter. Many wildflower roots exposed. Gave Ed Hinton some tubers for his woods neat Hilliard. They left about 12.
Peg Hendricks called & I gave her update on survey & appraisal – Told her we have decided on revisonary clause as opposed to taking tax deductions.
Finished packets for Exec Committee – Feb 5 minutes, update Function Structure, my reply to Tom Wagner’s attack- and revised letter on library proposal. Took them to HH to put in post boxes. Picked Mary up & we picked up my 2 more Delaware chairs at Rt. 23 Antiques. Took Charlton Myers copies to him at Morral – He misses the meetings.

Wrote letter to Exec Committee defending myself against Tom Wagner’s venom. Feel better.
Saw a streaking light out the east window while watching TV – Mary thinks it may have been the Soviet space satellite due to expire.*
Wrote letter to Street & Alley Committee in response to theirs – Endorsed the change to Presidential Drive from Seminole & Mandana around Harding High School.

Brochure for Region II meet 5 hrs
Worked until 3:30 on Bruchure for Reg II meeting. Not much luck in doing it in Ventura first.
Met Mary at 4:99 at Tri-Rivers for Kiwanis Pancake Day – ate 6 pancakes. Saw Nell & Clay Bryant – Look good.
Back home & read paper, worked crossword puzzle – TV –
Still licking my wounds over Tom wagner’s attack on me. Why write the MCHS Boaard instead of me? I thought we were friends.

Carla Smith, surveyor & Bob Gibnson, writer apprentice surveyor here at 9 to establish corner points of 18 acres. SE was easy, Liones up with ig post at corner of Ralph Bopger’s field – NE easy between Nickle & me – roadpoint easily found. NW was 120’ east of fence row when the found it. But they worked until after 3:00 on it.
Called BancOhio Trust Dept about Howeard’s trust – it shows $238,000 since in HH bonds – Will call me back.
Picked Mary up at 3:00 to go to Upper to visit Fanny Baker. She’s in Nursing Center since breaking hip – but in good spirits. Talked much more lucidly. She will be 94 on Monday.
Ate in Upper & Mary got jigsaw puzzles at Ben Franklin Store. Picky up my grapefruit at her house & home about 7:00.
Beginning to get relaxed after Tuesday.

Wrote reply to Tom Wagner’s attack on my article in Newsletter on Approval of OHPO – told him he was right. Didn’t mention that when Jack asked for a paragraph to be moved to first of article it changed the reference of a paragraph at the end of article – also wrote minutes of Exec Committee meeting.
But just no heart to get a financial records.
Called Jim Mautz to tell him glad he’s coming on to board. Suggested he ask Don Reynolds to do the Financial review & there from it suggest the changes I gave him Sunday.
Spend rest of day getting valentines sent, sorting cards & stamps.

At computer from 9 to 6:30, finalizing reports for group tonight. Also listed 5 recommendations to clarify financial records. Helen Kaufman, Eula Rhoads, Margaret, & Fran & Jim Mautz out at 7:30 to see results of my work. Now we have ammunition when anyone says “We have it funded” Most of our remaining funds should be ion escrow fund. Hope Jim will accept Board position open.

Sunny all day except at sunrise. Took Howard to Reeses for groceries & then took him into Heritage Hall – Dick West there – quick tour but he seemed impressed. Also stopped at Hemmerly’s & he met Kass.
Wrote letter to Oleta Crieghton McHenry to answer her query as to where to send Dave’s ring & stuff that she’s had since 1985. Also wrote Dave & sent C’mas letter to Bob & Carol Whitman. Took them to PO at 11:55 to beat the 4 cent postage increase tomorrow. Made macaroni & cheese.
Sorted out mopre MCHS records on finances & am beginning to get a picture. Also sorted material for notebooks.

Slept until 10:30 after a restless night.
11 to 4 at computer. Entered info in Foxplus data base showing sponsors gifts & expenditures against them. Also how much should be in escrow ($24,000)
Bricks sales not included. 2 Marys picked me up at 4:15 to go to Al’s – Remind me never to order spaghetti there again.
Home & relaxed – to bed at 9:00.
Mary told me she doesn’t think walls in HH Lopbby are wrong – Told me I’m, never going to keep JHack from putting them up. Real encouragement.

Eula woke me at 8:00 with a letter she has written to Judith Kitchen trying to save the lobby from walls – Bless her heart – she’s a fighter too.
Krista Devore called from ODNR saying wouldn’t be up for interview today. So glad as that let me get right on the spreadsheet of Transformation Fund.
Frustrated by printouts & lost data so called David. HGe helped some, but couldn’t understand my problems at long distance even using the modem – But I have enough info now to hang jack – was so worked up I could hardly get ready to go to the WDIF Distinguished Citizen Banquet at the Country Club with Helen Kaufman, Eula Rhoads & Margaret Gracely. And wouldn’t we get stuck at the table with Jack! Poor Margaret, she sat next to him
Discussed strategies in Eula’s driveway. Home by 10:30 a little more relaxed.
