Lots of redding up to do. Left for Cincinnati about 1:00. Met Mary in Meijer so she could give me card for David. Gave him a $50 bill. Started snowing at Clinton County Line and last 50 miles we’re at 45 miles an hour on Interstate 71- glad to arrive safely. Sarah and friend David Sapp drove in from Wright State (sax player). Senior. Built like David but shorter. To Don Pablo for Mexican in old industrial complex. $75 fed us all good. Home to David’s surprise party and he was! Rita and Dan Erickson the real treat Hink and Kathy, Mary and Jeff Knoop – good reminiscences- cake with 50 candles.

Karen had asked for baby pictures of me and David so went through all my boxes of pictures- even cigar boxes in rec room almost filled a small book but took all day. House is a mess from pulling photos out of closets and shelves. Did research on Simon Kenton’s burial place. Ray Crain’s book says originally at New Jerusalem 5 Mi north of Zanesfield and reinterred at Oakdale in Urbana. Called Charlie Evers who wants to use it on radio tomorrow. Called David for info on it (had none). Weather report for tomorrow is freezing rain and snow. Hope I can get to Cincinnati for David’s surprise party.

Spent most of the day going through all Huber stuff. Finally found folder with copies of Articles of Incorporation and application 501c3 marked “originals at museum”. No copy of 501c3 in folder. Willis Thomas called- had received Hallmarks. Madge Guthrey called and invited me to go to distinguished citizens banquet at country club. Took George Scantland copy of Day Before Yesterday. Gary Sims was named Man of the Year and Sam Birnbaum lifetime achievement.

Tow truck pulled car out of lower driveway to side of road. Finished putting dues notices in envelopes. Did a little research on June 8th through October 18th, 1920 and Francis Russell book for presentation of Harding campaign for two fourth grades at Fair Park school. Dropped off mailing of EHMA at Fahey Bank North. Met Olievia Huntsman coordinator at library. Bill Snyder from the Star appeared and announced he was Trella Romine’s personal photographer! Posed me in rocker with kids all around. I started reading from book on Harding from library. Started with the Teapot Dome scandal! Presentation went well- went out of character to finish Harding story after election through Harding memorial.
