Pulled weeds & clipped before heat got to me.
Worked on Transformation Fund records in air conditioned bed room. The figures ‘very interesting’
Fried eggs & sausage for supper with strawberries.
Tool labels to Kensel Clutter for his seed project. Still found a few typing errors even after I got there.
Then in Meijer to pick up 4 more bales cypress mulch to finish beds & to Big Bear for groceries.
Home about 8:30 – TV boring so to bed at 10:00.
Tome Andres called. Wants to bring Professor Mitch up next Wed to see Terradise for a Wetlands study he’s doing. Tom sounded as if Ohio State Officials didn’t have much interest in acquiring Terradise.

Royce cleaning
Spent morning doing final compiling of material for AASLH award – Weighs over a pound! Also got mail ready for Bill elliott & Keith Vincent – courthouse stuff – Mailed them $6.50 total. Tabor Allison had his class to woods across river so I went over to see if any pawpaws had set – couldn’t find a one. After all those blossoms!
Letter from Kensel with more prairie plants to add to list so re-did database ‘See’ & printed all new sheets.
Set out petunias in bed W of greenhouse & some impatiens under Bradford Pear.

Cleaned out bed W of greenhouse – bamboo – sedum – clump of daffs & itis – top get it ready to plant petunias. By 11:00 it was so hot I had to quit.
Wrote up minutes of May 212 board meeting MCHS – In to HH about 3:30 with my box of things to copy for AASLH Award. Norm & Helen there &* said I souldn’t pay for them. Made about 60 copies to include. 1 ½ hrs at copier.
To Styling Salon for hair cut and blow dry – Had planned to have supper with Mary but she forgot – so got gas – bananas & strawberries & chicken dinner (boxed) & came home.
SKipped Marion Garden Club meeting – I’m not interested in planning a rose show.
Wade Jones brought black top to patch along landscape timbers on edge of upper & lower driveway – took about ½ hr $50.
Gave Norm check for $1,500 to finish paying my pledge for kitchenette. Want $300 for HPEF $1200

Up at 8:30 – Raining till about 12 – Sorte3d clothing – winter – summer – give away – Skink had tail caught in deck boards – Mary brought crow bar out & wedged boards apart & got it out. Carried most of plants out that were still in greenhouse.

Scattered cypress mulch on patio beds. Really gets one dirty.
Spent all rest of day organizing material to supplement AASLH nomination. Wrote letter to Mrs. Kessan – now only need to copy news releases & pertinent pages from books.
Cat brough a skink in & deposited it on newspaper upside down. I thought it was dead, but when I flipped it out on to the deck it moved. Tokk a video & turned it over to identify – all brown with redd head underneath – white belly. Then flipped it over again & its tail slipped between flooring boards on deck. Put a nan over it to protect it – overnight.
Returned Kathi’s call – Kristi home with a Tim. Set out Heavenly Blue Morning Glory plants & Geraniums rooted from last year.

Set out 15 chrysanthemum plants from Spring Hill Nurseries – 30 plants $25. Then started sorting papers stored in boxes under cherry desk in my bed room. Purse: To gather material Richard Francoviglia requested for AASLH Award he nominated me for – Couldn’t find notebook Kathy prepared for me several years ago,.
May out & hooked up camcorder to TV so I can play & copy 8mm tapes. Fixed pot of plants to take to Walt’s grave for Kathi & we took to Bucyrus Cemetery. Then back roads to Upper Sandusky to visit Fanny bnaker at Fairhaven Nursing Home. told her Frances Hemmerly died – she asked about ‘Bob’ Shuster – Looks great & can walk with walker following her hip replacement.
Back to Marion to Big Banana – also got strawberries & box of ‘Symphony’ Hershey Bars. Bread at Nickles. Supper at Long John Sildvers – ate with Norm & Donna Ruth Fogt. Mary brought me home &* I gave her strawberries & chocolate bars.

Got invasive plants out of bed south of patio – Then bath & typed out bio & outline of talk on Wildflowers for Marion Christian Women’s luncheon at Country Club – Only 10 minutes so dwelt on definition of wildflower – weed? – native plant – alien? – all in our perception of what’s right.
To HH – Willis Nye in hunting originals of pamp[hlet ‘Tractor in the Making’ – Called John Hickson to clue me in to his records but Huber pagers not in book – so couldn’t help him
12 Marion Area Counselling Center group popped in for a tour – Royce’s son among them. Then took half of group from Canton. Two groups wear me out.

Madge Book 4 hrs
Up at 5:30 & corrected M/S of Madge’s book from her copy. She came about 9:15 & dictated the caption for 14 pix – Also made several title pages with Arvey label program for her to choose from. She left just after Delmar Brewer arrived about 10:00. He used weed eater to mow front bank & trim under fences & around trees. Rototilled across road (again) weeds grew up from first time. Used Round-up on all walks & patio & around driveway $35 – He finished byt 1:30.
Rested a while – Met Marfy at Turroff’s for dinner before Board meeting.
Nothing exciting for a change. Over by 9:45 – Helen Kaufman didn’t make it back from trip to Mexico so Eula presided. Air conditioning installed in gift shop[ & Jackal wants to give contract ($10,000) to Wenigs for new electrical system, without other bids.
