Rusty Schultz & helper replaced sills on greenhouse & sealed it with cement. $355 – then installed insulation panels on spring loaded rods. %557 – Richard Davidson had to bring them up because he didn’t think he could fix the greenhouse in one day.
Phil Postell out with new screen for patio door & squared up the frame. So I waited for weeks & they would appear day Wilda was here. Had to change plans to go as I needed to be here. So Mary picked up the Huber Newsletter & corn & brought Wilda out & we had lunch on deck- quiche, tomatoes & peaches & ice cream & thebn put labels on Newsletter & Mary took them back in to Fahey Bank to mail as I had to wait until Rusty finished to give him a check. Then in to Meijers to pick up pix & took new slacks to shop on Church St to have them lengthened.
To Mary’s for dinner – corn on the cob – Bratwurst, tomatoes, Indiana melon & raspberry short cake. Wilda has been missing good Ohio produce. She showed videos & snapshots of her family & trips to Caribbean & Alaska.
She is worried about Jackyes’ attitude towards gher family since Kent’s death. She shuts them out – and won’t give the boys responsibilities.

Drove downtown Cols to see the 6 tons of Belgian tuberous begonias spread on Statehouse lawn in gorgeous design. Only drove by so could only see color. Stopped at Buehlers in Delaware for supper. Toured Hemmerly’s & New Dimension when we picked up my car. Year end report from Acct – Sales $478,000 profit down about $19,000. Watering
Worked on membership expiration notices for EHMA – ran 30 letters on laser printer of people who didn’t pay with first notice.
Called Dave & told him I couldn’t forgive myself ( and the rest of the family wouldn’t either) if my money caused his death or injury on a motorcycle – told him if he felt he had to separate & needed transportation he should arrange bank financing. He must be responsible for his decisions. He was understanding & said he had waited a long time to hear me say that.

Mary shopping with me at Elder Beerman. Bought Alfred Dunner jacket, skit & slacks & blouse. Then mary saw 2 jackets that looked like me – at 30% off – couldn’t decide so bought a red one & olive green one.
Mary protests loaning Dave money to buy a motorcycle – thinks a divorce might be best so Dave could finish his education, meet a girl his equal & live happily ever after – in Ohio!

A day of history – 3 days attempt by an 8 man coup by Communist leaders in Russia failed due to the protests of the Russian people in Moscow led by Boris Yeltsin, the first elected president of Russia. Finally the communist threat no longer hangs over the world. Gorbachev had been held under house arrest by Communists. The people congregated & built barriers against tanks to protect ‘Down with junta – Down with KGB’ – 150,000 people congregated to hear Yeltsin,.
At Terradise a more normal day – Royce here to clean – Fertioliozed plants – rejoiced in the enlarging peaches – watched hummingbirds at feeder on side porch. A perfect day.
At 1:00 met Sheilda Balyantine, photographer from Marion Star at Claridon Prairie. Taking shots for announcement of prairie tour Sundaty. Also came to Teerradise for shots of me.
