Dave’s birthday – age 24!
Wrapped presents – called Dave for his birthday – Dee not staying at home – Dave says she’s depressed & needs time to herself.
Mailed video transfer kit to Kathi – $9+ priority mail (arrived in Reno on Monday)
Furnace made big noise so called Voisard. Workman said bearing may be going out. – replaced coupler – Bill $64.

Printed and sent about 120 Christmass Letters without the carol sing invitation. Took them to Caledonia to mail. Then to UPS at 11:45 but their holiday hours are 12:”00 to 6 so went on in to Sears to get more towels for David’s family. Also got him sweat shirt jacket. Had chili lunch at Wendy’s – To SuperX – got 10 crossword puzzle books for Howard. To Kroger & bought 2 Ameriflora passes – for Mary & me for Christmas. Grocery shopped for weekend – Back to UPS – 3 boxes cost almost $20 – not sure they’re worth it (arrived reno on Monday)
Back home & made a door swag for Martha Neveill from Terradise white pine & cones, foxtail, read bow & silk holly on a slab of white oak bark – like I sent to Dee & Dave & Kathi. Took it over to her – She’s scheduled for hip replacement in January. Park has only 10 lb water pressure – only a trickle during peak times.
David called for Uncle Allen’s address – wants to send him a card. Told him about July 16 check for $100 for FoxPro made out to Terradise Computer Systems – told him to use it for Terradise Computer Systems investment! – And ordered FoxPro through channels.

Kathi called about 9 – good talk. Spent the whole day wrapping packages for Dave & Dee, Kristi & Kathi & Bob – finding boxes, packing & sealing them. Created shipping labels using labelPro & also my return label. Wore me out.
Then started on the rest of my C’mas letter mailing & worked on it all evening.

TO Columbus at 9:15 on snowy roads until Waldo. OAHSM Exec Committee meeting. Only Jim Oda, Don Beckett & me + Local History Staff. Decided Agenda for the Futura III will be Feb 23, 24 at Deer Creek State Park – & not much else. I took my analysis of Annual Meeting attendees showing only 76 people were registered who were not board, presenters, award winners or staff for a total of 148 listed as attendees. Then I opened a few eyes.
Stopped in Westerville at MicroCenter & picked up Xtree & FoxPro books & 5 ½ and 3 1/2 disks.
Home by 4:00 & got C’mas letter finished that are invitations for Carol Sing. Met Mary at Turoff’s for dinner, she took me to Young’s Sohio (BP) to leave my car for oil change. Was down to 1 qt1 No wonder oil light came on! – Then she took me to EHMA Board meeting. Finally voted to make a reasonable offer for the Lincoln-Mercury Bldg – $75,000 & 3 mo. option. Mike Dietsch won’t be on board next year – so Willis & my concerns about him becoming president were unfounded. Mike gave me a ride to Young’s. Home about 9:00.

Worked on creating Christmas card labels, writing, printing & readying for mailing my C’mas letter. Card from edgar Buensucesco suggesting the ‘Newsletter’ form. Changed yes from logical to character field & then labels printed.

Brick certificates.
David at my computer at 6:30 AM working on TerraPro update for Springfield client. After bfst I cleaned garage & burned trash. About 10:30 started working on changes to Brick cert file with him. David left at 11:45 for FoxPro seminar in Cols at Compuserve bldg in Dublin. I left about 12:05 after getting check cashed at Caledonia bank.
Presenter had been Ashton-Tate employee using dBase until Oct when Ashton-Tate was bought out. He has lots to learn about Foxpro. David (& others) helped him out. Home in rain after trying to find the Map Store at Kerrick Square.

After she left started a data base of my address book.
David came in about 10:30. Fed him pizza & chicken sandwiches. Had been to Dayton & Springfield.
Mary out AM with grapefruit & back in PM with a new (14,500 miles) Cadillac deVille – white, dark blue leather interior. Her 1986 model had 115,000 miles. Cost her $24,000 – down from $34,000 as car rental turns them in before 15,000 miles. $5,000 trade in.

Wrote up Nov 19 Board Meeting from Ann Bush notes & Annual Meeting from my notes. Also found draft of letter to go with brick appreciation certificates. In to Marion at 1:00 for Perm at Le Salon of Style (Changed from The Styling Salon!) $35
Me Eula at HH at 3:15 & we worked on setting up committee chair – still not heat in building. The new $2,500 electrical system on boiler shorted out. At 4:15 Exec Comm meeting.
Hurried them thru agenda so I could ge to Garden Club of Marion C’mas Dinner at Ramada Inn (formerly Harding Inn- Holiday House, etc) Sat between Jim Mautz & Tom Quilter. Both interested in Prairie. River Valley Singerss gave propgram – reminding me of when Dave Decker was with that group.
Home by 9:15 – fire in fireplace to burn the oak logs so can put new grate in. One in it is too shallow & puts smoke into the room.
Called Dave & Dee at 10:00 but no one home.. Guess Dave is at sea & Dee working.

Slept until 9:40 – to Marion at 1:00 to go to Palace for Travel Program – Sightseers France – Phil sat with group from FOrest. Talked to Linda Baker Klehm & Dorothy Strawser Klehm (my 8th grade teacher at Oak Street School) during intermission. Linda is descended from Will Baker, daddy’s uncle. Has children Heather & Stephen, age 25. Heather is teaching English in Paris after studying at Sorbonne.
Stopped for Famous Recipe Chicken on way home.Got the C’mas tree decorated & consolidated things so won’t take as much room when I put them away.
Took Howard to grocery.
