Up at 6:30 to get Dave to Driver’s License testing site on W. Fairground by 8:15. He passed his driving test & we were at Murphy’s at Southland to get his permanent license. Had to wait until 10:00 so went to McDonald’s for bkfst. Got 15 bank books updated while we waited. Dave back to school about 11:30. Checked on School Ins. to cover broken wrist. Took forms to hospital – Dr. Nowake & X-Ray.

Whole day for Dave but he’s so proud of license.

Met John Cottrell, Dave Brown & Carl Lehner at Hist. Center to discuss Court House Centennial Book we are to compile. Hard to keep Dave on track – He’s more interested in pointing out all the errors in past publications – And his store of pictures never seems to materialize. On to Altrusa – why do I go – I’m only bored.

Dave in with me and stayed at Mary’s.

To Columbus for OAHSM Board Meeting. Lots of good reports on Reg 2 Meeting Saturday. Shopped after – Este Lauder creme – Tablecloths – lacy sweater.
Proofs of index here when I got home. Called Bob Whitman – Lots of plans for publicizing “Jim Thorpe” – Have 400 pre sale. Discussed price for post sale books. Bob said knowing me was like taking a course at Ohio State – I was a source of inspiration to him! – A compliment I’ll cherish to the grave.

Took it easy AM – Wrote to Dorothy Dines – Columbus Hildreth’s granddaughter of Colorado Springs. She had ordered a Hildreth Book. Took Dave to BYF & then went to Hemmerly’s & ordered spring fertilizer, etc. Dave drove home. He dug holes & erected 5 sections of rail fence east of house. I worked in woods AM cleaning up flood debris – Scilla blooming – scared up wood ducks from river & a pair of red tailed hawks soared overhead.
