Unloaded 45 Railroad ties. Grade Card 1B 2 C’s two D’s. Transplanted perennials from bed by Greenhouse to new bed by mailbox.

Entered Salem cemetery, edited, rewrote and printed. two and a half hours for 98 records.

About 3:00 David Enghart and helper from deHaven’s arrived with preliminary equipment.

Loaded up shrubs for center, picked Dave up at 3:30 – last detention thank goodness – to Center to plant. Norm Vogt and Jerry Fry also to help. Got foundation planting done but not barberry. Dave ready to go to school to see To Kill a Mockingbird and starter locked.

Finally a warm sunny day! Walked in woods following pair of ruby crowned kinglets. First bloom of year – spring beauties – blood root – trout lilies. Cleaned bed by mailbox of grass & planted viburnum clicatum mariessi from Vincas – pd $6 – Also 2 spirea – Hard work. Howard put up rods for new kitchen curtains. Worked on cemetery records until 4. Picked Dave and Chris up. In for peat moss and concrete bags. put up Martin house pole and cleaned new graded area of stones and cement blocks.

Temp 44 & windy.
To Courthouse Centennial meeting. Distributed “contents” of booklet. Bryson had not contacted John Foster to accept commissioners $3,000 to Hist. Soc. to finance the celebration. Too rainy to plant Hist. Center but met Bard C. there to unload peat moss, etc. Worked on cemetery records. In at 7 to Center to give talk to &-Menettes – Marion Co. History & history of Center. Gave me $10 for Society.

Easter
Dave up at 5 – dressed in cords, blue oxford cloth shirt & white sweater – to Trinity for Sunrise Service. He had part in playlet. Home at 8:30 & back to bed.

Worked on cemetery records. Used WordStar to write cemetery descriptions. Working on Pleasant Township.

Dave up at 12:30 – over to Chris Opp’s – Home at 3 & slept until 7:00.

Kathi called & I didn’t know he was asleep in rec room.

Called Mame [Harmon] about Toronto trip. Bed time for her because of Flower Show.

Dave & I in to shop at 8:30. I routed 4 drivers until 2:30. Sue Bales in to sign lease for 633 Bordeaux $350 month – $100 deposit. Worked on cemetery records at shop for about 45 minutes. Finished routing & Dave & I left about 4 with last route. Stopped at K-Mart. Bought Easter Candy on their “green light” square. Dave took Caledonia & Martel deliveries alone. In for rehearsal at Trinity at 5:30 but it was changed to last night!

Hang TV room draperies.

Paid bills & balanced check book. Picked Dave up & in to Mother’s – Work finished but Mrs. Rinker called about no locks on windows – guess nails had been used to lock them. Hot water heater is installed. To Mary’s & picked up Dave’s chocolate car from Kathy. Supper at Wend’s – shopped at Big Bear. Home at 5:45. Bob Stout called & said he would close Mother’s estate – gave him final expenses.

Poison ivy on face and neck.

Spent 4 hrs doing a final proof reading of “Jim Thorpe” – found 20 more errors & call Carol to get them corrected on blue lines.

Spent 2 hours hanging living room draperies. Frustrating. Picked Dave up at 3:35 after his dentention. Picked Mary Brocklesby up at 4:30 – In to Center for Courthouse Centennial Book committee. Showed them projectd contents. No progress because Dave Brown held the floor. Board meeting followed – Authroized phone install. $3,000 from Co. Commisioners for Courthouse Centenial under discussion. Home at 10:00.
