Worked on newsletter all morning at shop and took to Big Red at noon. Also conferred with Ron on Cemetery Inscriptions book. Spent afternoon perfecting the printout for the book on the shop’s printer.

Dave to Ponderosa for dinner with the cast. Pretty rowdy I guess.

I decided to go to opening night- got seat in third row left side aisle Dave didn’t know I was there until the very end. To see him juggling, singing, dancing, smiling was worth all the bad moments I’ve had in the past two and a half years. I was so proud there must have been a glow around me.

Came home and baked box peanut butter cookies for a snack when David and Kathi came in at midnight. She left Reno around 4:00 and arrived in Columbus at 10:15. David came from Cincinnati and picked her up. So great to have them both here. bed at 2:00 a.m.

Working on Cemetery records when David called at 9:30. He got to accounts payable and the black book programs working and was ready to go to Boyd’s.
I went in to shop at 1:30 to meet him after taking Howard for a ride in the new Ciera.
January report in- loss of $12,000 so far this year! have cut payroll and stopped all buying.
Jim Midlam and brother Russ stopped in and helped select type to use on letter quality printer at the shop. Also waited while we did first printouts. Look great and the page numbering isn’t difficult.
David left for Cincinnati about 4:30. Took my gray filing cabinet that I had traded the shop a tan one. The gray one was Ray’s- bought with Christmas money from postal patrons.

Took computer to shop and set up in back room to observe. Virgil suggested I take wagon to Bob- transmission place. Got it right in but won’t be ready until Saturday. Called Mary about 1:30 to take me car shopping. Went to Inskeep and asked for Howard Koehler. Showed me ’84 Buick- didn’t like. Asked about ’85 Olds- “loaded”. Had an Olds Ciera that came in yesterday- brown- beige top. Wire wheels, power brakes, steering, locks, seats, windows. AM/FM radio and tape deck, cruise control, delayed windshield wiper, rear window defogger- $13,500. Was going to pay cash until they showed me computer print out that with 12% financing I can save $2,800 in 4 years by paying $284 a month!! Took Mary and Ken to Turoff’s for dinner and back at 7:00 to pick up the car- all prepped and ready. Was Dave surprised when I picked him up after his guitar lesson.

In to shop with computer to work while Kass is gone to South Carolina on vacation with Pete.

Lots of lost motion around there. Mary Waggle is back after operation to rebuild her jaw-off since January.

Jan and Mary Page got arrangements ready to enter in “Flowers And” contest. I took pictures- developed and printed at Marion Drug in 1 hour then another hour to get 5 1/2″ 7″ to send it. Took it to post office and put it in truck ready to go to Columbus.
Ignored Altrusa tonight. Worked on editing records.
