Spent day balancing checkbook, writing checks and studying insurance policies.

Called River Valley School to talk with Mr. Main about Dave flunking his geometry exam yesterday. He knows Dave well- says he wants to appear to be Joe Cool who doesn’t have to study. Doesn’t pay attention- is careless about homework. Is an underachiever for his capabilities. Unless he changes his attitudes he will flunk out of college.

When Dave came home told him of my talk with Mr. Main and how well he knew him and how concerned he was and Dave listened!

Took Cat for shots. We talked more when he came home from vet. He really thinks he wants to study architecture. I can see now that his industrial tech building and drafting interest were pointing to that.

Up at 6:00 and left at 7:15 for Oxford. Dave picked Lee up and took wagon to Young’s for differential seal and tailpipe and I met them there. On campus at 10:30 and left them at Schiller Hall to attend a geology class. I went to Lane Library downtown and read early Ohio history. Lunch on baked brie at Dappolo’s and then put labels on flyers- Hildreth genealogy, Marion County Courthouse and Puzzlerama book. Terrible snow shower came up at 2:00- picked kids up at Shriver Center at 2:30- went to bookstore. Bought tapes and a book on writing. Kids got bumper stickers. Stopped to see Bill in Fairborn on the way home and storm caught up with us. Snowed rest of the way home. Too tired to stay in for Thayer Soule travelougue.
