The last First Day of School for Dave. He’s taking English IV, Algebra II, Chemistry, American Government, Drafting II, Spanish II, Phys Ed. Says “Lee was all over me”- she split with Drew during the fair.

Worked on Awards listing winners.

Monday, August 26, 1985
Dave and I left for Logan County after lunch. Went to Zane Caverns- $8 for two with Buckeye Card. Finally after all these years- no big rooms, mostly narrow passages “pearls” and “bacon” most impressive.

Dave shopping in Mansfield with Walt and Olgua- they bought him two shirts- pretty far out.

Balanced checkbooks and checked investments. Still can’t decide whether to make an offer of $25,000 for the 50 acres across the road.

When Dave came home we went shopping at mall. Got him jeans and $40 sneakers- then he went into a pouting tizzy when I wouldn’t buy $28 grey jeans.

Friday, August 23, 1985
12 members of Green Thumb Garden Club toured Terradise. Even walked in the woods and some of them used swing.

Also took them to the Claridon Prairie. Gave me a $15 check. Will buy perennials.

Drove by Rudbeckia fulgida site east of overpass* on North side of 309 and someone had mowed all of those gorgeous black-eyed susans!

Just got house ready by time Gerfin’s arrived for MCHS board picnic. She was a big help as I had to be Hostess and also preside. About 20 here and lots of compliments on new decks.
