Wrote up May MCHS board minutes. Wrote newsletter. Wrote thank you to Marion County Commissioners for $3,000. Man from John Deere here to put belts back on pulley wheels. There is a knob on front that releases them. Mowed lower lawn and around pond.

Picked Clara Gillen and Mildred Selanders up for board meeting. Norm talks very loud. John Hickson gets the meat of a problem quickly and isn’t afraid to make motions. Charlie Evers not enthusiastic about a Scioto Ordinance Area tour this fall.

Took Howard into Marion (Odd Lots) to get his license plate sticker. I shopped for a new fertilizer spreader $24.

Stopped at Wilda Fulton’s on way home. Howard hadn’t been there since Chet died a year ago. Albert Seckel, her brother (both Howard’s cousins) came in from plowing corn.

Dave angry because I took wagon. He had made a date with Oleta to go swimming at Dogwood Valley but still had time came back about 3:00 very angry but wouldn’t tell me why.

Into Historical Center at 10:30 to meet Mary and Vivian Blackwell (Rocky’s niece). Viv wanted to find newspaper article about her birth- three cousins born in October 1924- couldn’t find it.
To Hans Place for dinner. Swiss steak. Then out to Patterson to visit her cousins Edmond and Bernice Rockwell. To Patterson Cemetery to Rocky and Harriet and William Rockwell’s graves.

Vivian and I over to Crums to pick up pick strawberries. Wieners and catfish on grill and peas and lettuce from garden.

Went to Mary’s and she gave him Kenny’s clothes filled a line clear across car plus two boxes and didn’t make a dent in his supply.

Cut delphinium, lisanthus and a gorgeous Grand Masters red rose- made bouquets for living room and kitchen table. Watered terrace beds and greenhouse bed on west. Only .20″ rain here. Hoed some of the vegetable garden. Had problems getting Dave to mow- he was watching video of Annie Get Your Gun by River Valley players. Met Mary and Vivian Blackwell at River Valley for strawberry festival supper. Then out here. Kensel Clutter brought me three little plants of Royal Catchfly they grew from seeds from Bigelow cemetery. David in from Bellevue.
