Call from Richwood woman wanting to buy PawPaws. Read my “DBY”.
Mary and I had wonderful day together. She picked me up at 8:00 and we headed for Holmes County. A little misty early and obscured some of the color. Spent about an hour in Recorder’s Office in Millersburg. Found many Bickel and Sheneman records. Visited Jane and Sandy’s Store. Got candy and sleigh bells. Bought swiss cheese as we left town. Lunch at Warehouse at Roscoe- color gorgeous. To Don and Agnes one and a half hour visit. Don told me of the 11 plants he built for Goodyear in 10 years September 55 million. Home about 7:00

Monday, October 27, 1986
To Columbus for OAHSM board my first as first vice president. New award committee commended me for my work last year. Local History Office has a proposal to ask Ohio legislature for $500,000 to be used for grants for local history societies. We would all need to lobby.
Stopped at shop talked to Kass about putting accounts receivable on computer. Christmas giveaway and Faye’s hatefulness to everyone. Home about 5:30
Dave called wants me to look at ’65 Firebird- $4,500.

Friday, October 24, 1986
Worked most of day getting the three mailings finished. One was postcard invites to November 2nd premiere involved calling all County High Schools for their social studies teachers. Then to Center to get more envelopes then to Hemmerly’s to cancel 125 first class letters containing tour notice.

Karen and kids arrived about 10:00 giving me time to pick up the house a little. Kids all slept in living room- Karen in Dave’s room.

Got labels ready for Harding mailing. Picked up the postcards at OSUM along with my atlas that Rob borrowed.

Did rewrite of column on memories and when Mary dropped by she took it into the Star. Got materials ready for board meeting. Hal Boncutter asked me to preside until he could get there about 7:45. Took Mildred Selanders home

Monday, October 20, 1986 low temperature 33°, but geraniums, Dahlia’s and impatiens not frosted.
Wrote my Day Before Yesterday column on the satisfaction of memories but not polished enough to take the Star before I head to leave for committee meeting with Clara Gillen and Mildred Selanders to finalize the copy for the brochure about the Marion Historical Center.

Bill Nolan called to say he enjoyed Saturday in Marion and update me on the rest of his stay in the area.
Also met Joan Radwin at the Center to give her info on Marion schools. Made copy of Dr. Lewis death September 3rd 1929 for Mary Casad in San Diego.

Sunday, October 19, 1986
Mary and I left about 10:15 headed for Hocking Hills to meet David and family at Rock House. Stopped in Lancaster for Kentucky Fried Chicken and coleslaw to take for picnic lunch. They got there about 1:00 -15 minutes after we did. Kids had never been there and love climbing around. Also went to Old Man’s Cave. Mary and I headed home at 4:30 so she could go to church to see the Ginn’s slides on Peru.
