Newsletter Huber – 1 hr.
Finally made a pillow from the comfort 7 got a little sleep – At bfst asked Sarah to go shopping with me. “Plans with friend.” Karen reminded her it wasn’t until afternoon. “Don’t have any money.” So much for my efforts to be friendly. So I left alone about 10 – Stopped at Kenwood Mall. Overwhelming, but found a white high necked blouse at Lazarus – Button too tight so alteration put a snap on for me $38 – marked downs from $54. Never paid that much for a blouse before. Took I-71 to Rt. 72 to I-70 at Springfield- N on state route 54 to 4 – Interesting geology- could see the moraines under the melting glacier after being in Alaska.
Stopped at Wendy’s for sandwich & frosty & at Willis Nye’s to pick up copy of Huber financial report that I left without making a copy for Newsletter. Home about 4:00 & entered info on computer – Felt lousy – always do after visiting 6404 – not one word to thank me for $1,750 toward kitchen. Had to ask what they got with Christmas money I gave them. Oh, well, I guess its the generation gap – but I have so much love to give that they don’t want. Thank goodness for David

David’s 45th Birthday
Entered Cockshutt financial report in Huber Newsletter – cleaned car inside and washed windows. Odds & ends & finally left for Glen/Gary about 1:30 to take brick info. Mike Lyon showed me complete process of incising names – Exacting work. Then stopped at CD Garage in Mt. Gilead & they took branch out from under my car. Wind yesterday left litter all over road. Stopped at Arvey’s in Columbus & got ream of copy paper – labels – pens – ribbons & disks for MCHS – about $50-
To David’s about 5:45 – kitchen looking usable – Range top ($700) installed (with $200 ventilator) & high rise faucet – Karen used it for first time to put water in vase for flowers I took David for birthday. Rib eye steaks grilled on new gas grill – brussells sprouts, peas, cheese cake & pumpkin pie – clam chowder – Harvey there – usual hubbub. Boys gave David a pinata filled with candy – All gave him funny cards.
David, boys & I went to office to use Ventura to create Huber Newsletter. Very complicated, but I think I could learn it with some help. Finished about 11 – 2 1/2 hrs. work – Looks good.

To Columbus for Quicken- 3 1/2 hours. average December 19.2 degrees normal 32°, 9.4 in snow normal 4 in
Mary picked me up about 10 to go to Meijer’s Center in Columbus to buy Quicken for MCHS to do accounting. Norm says he will learn it- $41. To Li’l Professor bookstore in Worthington- got Alan Eckert’s ‘Twilight of Empire’ and paperback ‘Blackhawk War.’ Stopped in Waldo at Grolls and looked at recliners- one I wanted is out of stock! One on floor had a hold on it. Home about 3:30. Answered Willis Nye’s call- wanted an ear for his concern over dominance of Huber Association by Dietsch, Winck, Swaderers who’s only interest is in selling Cockshutt models. Told him of Harry Bard’s attack on me. He said Harry has left a trail of people (women) that he has antagonized unreasonably.
Touching TV story about destruction of library in Bucharest during recent liberation.

10:00 to 5:15 7 1/4 hours volunteer.
To Mary & Carl’s for dinner with Mary. Her house so beautifully decorated
To Heritage Hall at 10:00- Worked all day on Membership forms. Mailing of 526 copies of open house announcement (Mary helped) & brough Brick database up to date – 454 sold to 12/28.
I turned in $350 to cover family and Terradise Computer Systems and Hemmerly’s Flowers
Harry Bard in office lamenting fact that plumbers hadn’t been in to fix boiler- and he could fix it if he had the parts, but he couldn’t get hold of a plumber to get them.
Later Sloan- the plumber called and said he hadn’t come because of so many emergency calls because of -20° weather but had heard Harry wanted the parts. (All this after Harry didn’t answer his phone and Norm searched building and couldn’t find him.) So I said okay bring the parts over.
Later I went to lower level and heard Harry talking about me to Dick West so I went into his work room- amazed at his attack on me was for ‘interfering and what was none of my business.’ He said I had no right to talk to the plumber. Called me names and says he won’t work in the same building with me. I cried it out alone.
