Hot. Worked mt’g screen door, basement work & “Rez-zing” kitche & hall woodwork. To Marion p.m. – Kathy to eye Dr.’s & Trella & I hunting groceries, wallpaper, bathroom mirror cut down. Dad ‘n Fetter fished. Dubbed tonite.

Thursday, August 13, 1953
Hot. But nice out here! We dubbed, basement, everything, we garden after supper! Jim Weaver here p.m.- bathroom fixtures, sticking doors, etc. Rocky & Mary here evening. Bed 11

Wednesday, August 12, 1953
Up early, cut post & set mailbox! Unloaded rest ‘o truck & Trella & I off in it for Marion. Got Sandra Jean, while Trella & Mrs. Deyson cleaned 552. She & I spent day here, getting books in shelves, working windows, etc. Supper at Drive-In. Ray Hemmerly brought a truckload out tonite.

Tuesday, August 11, 1953
Warm. Still vacationing, & straightening. Installing hangers, etc. To City p.m., I went Joe Neidhart, Kathy to Imbody- eyes, Trella & I shopped. Ate Drive-In, loaded truck good, & brought to farm, Trella & I. Tiff over kids again- I’m sorry. Called Sandra Jean.

Monday, August 10, 1953
(vacation) Up early- got workbench fixed up! & closet hooks, etc. After lunch, to Marion, Sims Bros. ($134 for Dodge!), to 954, $85 rent from Greer’s, bank, shoppin’ for towel bars, etc. etc. I delivered spray to Doney* tonite & varnished bookcases in hall last coat. Ray Hemmerly out with another load; Hutchman’s here tonite.

Moved & moved, & straightened. Doing nicely. Trella helped (1st since accident) a little with Guy wedding p.m. Paris out tonite; & Mary & Harold ate supper with us.

Saturday, August 8, 1953
MOVED. Paris & I all a.m., Trella & us p.m. (without truck) & again Paris & I evening (and Ray Hemmerly & Rocky, etc) got essentials to Acres. Tired. Beds set up, etc.

Friday, August 7, 1953
I’m some better. Worked all day, Ray Hemmerly & I moving load to Acres in truck, brick back, (dinner Hemmerly’s), Trella & Mrs. Deyson cleaning 954 a.m., me morning 954 & attic-ing there etc. & seeing “Batch” [sic?] Greer tonite b/4 supper. After supper, Trella & I took load to Acres, etc. Kathy home from camp tonite.

Thursday, August 6, 1953
Nice day, decent. Still off, Chiropractic (Leinhardt) tonite about 6. Worked Westwood a.m. on basement, & we took load to Farm pm. Mowed lawn here evening; & back to Acres, varnishing hall bookcases 1st coat; Rocky & Mary worked #3 bedroom, Hemmerly’s helped too. Bed late.

Wednesday, August 5, 1953
Cooler- rain too. Trella & I to Westwood a-cleaning and things. RENTED 954 to Greers today for 6 mos. Sold Bendix, David’s bike, tonite. 2 loads to farm- 1 in truck. Trella’s Dad helpiong load it. Still off “break-in-two”
