$2.52 per gallon- filled up gas at Swifty and got 52.9 miles per gallon on 36 mile trip.
Picked up Jim Carpenter and drove to John Green Cemetery. He had a folding chair for me and snacks. Took no pics since we were in Wyandot County. Greeted by Bill Moses, Charlton Myers’ three daughters Sally, Barbara and ? After reading of Declaration of Independence by Barbara, Sally gave background on a celebration and cemetery- in their family through mother for four generations.
Bob and Bonnie Klips came to me after ceremony. Good chat. He’s involved at Emerald Ash Borer research in Michigan and also Sullivant’s milkweed. Gathering pollen today.
We drove through Killdeer but not a single Canada Goose and the eagle nests couldn’t be seen in trees east of headquarters.
To fairgrounds in log cabin from 1:45 to 5:00 -almost 100 visitors. Nancy Cluff Augenstein talked to me for an hour. I did her wedding in LaRue in the 1960s. Also Ziegler’s- THR fans! Like my writings.
Home by 6:00. A Capital Fourth on PBS.
