Her sun-drenched blossans catch
Of every vagrant butterfly;
Then turn into the downy fluff
Fit to line a Fairy’s muff!

The summer’s wreckage, dried and browned,
Lies scattered on the frost touched ground;
And summer’s beauty, often proved,
Seems miles away and months removed.
But Queen Anne’s lace has trapped its share
Of snow flakes from the upper air,
And challenges our nature lore–
What summer flower sparkles more?
