Dear Earl:ยท We’ve studied, fussed and tried
To think up some thing clever
To let you know that still and all
We’re thinking of you ever.
But, after all, we’re just a lot
Of ordinary fellows
Who don’t get much pest usual run
Of “hi’s”, “goodbyes”, and “hello’s”.
So, if we’re inarticulate–
(No “Merry Christmas” to it)–
