I note a few contemporaries feel
Let down if each day now is not ideal.
But I say weather has a right to moods
And changes, like a man’s vicissitudes.
For me, spring flies too quickly, giving way
To hotter months already crowding May.
In boots and raincoat, let me splash and sing
Cherishing each sodden moment of the spring!
