Sunday June 4th 1978
Kathy and Kristi to church and Bob slept until 12. Davy helped me weed and package plantain (hosta) leaves for wholesalers. Bill and Erma out about 3 to see Kathi. They just got back from Annapolis and Bill found a 1713 marriage of Hutchman. Cooked city chicken, scalloped corn, dressing, rhubarb sauce and chocolate cake for Howard and Bob’s birthday dinner. Mary and mother out to eat with us. Showed my Arizona pictures. Jupiter and Mars crossing each other and Bob and I photographed them. Kathi and I in to call at Rutherford wake.

Saturday June 3rd 1978
Sands family, Mary and I to Columbus to Peacock Restaurant for Chinese dinner. Very good Chinese food. Kids ate only rice.

Friday June 2nd 1978
To hospital to be with Cheryl Knapp and family while they waited for her brother to come from Youngstown. They had decided to withdraw life support when he got there.

Wednesday May 31st 1978
Cecil Rutherford in coma following operation.
Sands family and I to Columbus about 10. Ate at The Forum for lunch and then to McAlister’s. Bought shoe for Nikkormat FTN which will be sent to me.
To Ohio Historical Museum. First time I had had much time there. Ohio Village not open.
Kathi got things out of attic and Kris washed dollhouse furniture and played with it.

Tuesday May 30th 1978
Kathi, kids and I into shop and then Kathi to Mary’s to sort out things stored there to ship.
Cheryl Knapp’s father Cecil Rutherford, operated on p.m. to clear vein in neck that could cause a stroke. He has had one.
Took Mary with all of us to Rhoad’s for dinner.
Played Boggle with Bob and kids.

Monday May 29th 1978 Memorial Day
David and family here in time for lunch they brought sliced ham. Had a shareholders meeting and gave K&D a check each for $100 (50 shares each at $2 per share) and Trella a check for $800. Named TR president, D&K vice presidents, Kass secretary and Cheryl treasurer.
Mary Jordan sick with bronchitis but Carl, BBB and Kenneth Hecker, Paris, Helen, Margaret Ann and family, Mary and mother. Some ate on deck. David left about 8:30. Kathi showed Mississippi films including Blue Angels.

Sunday May 28th 1978
Kathi and kids to church to hear “100% Chance of Rain”. kids cantata of the flood. Lazy morning with Bob and enjoyed talking with him. Morr like the Bob before he and Kathi married.
Mother and Mary out for pork roast.
Played Boggle and the kids really hold their own!
