Friday, July 20, 1956
David to dentist & to get hair cut. Stopped by cemetery. Beth & Kathy cleaning at house. Donald Shuster & Tommy stopped after Harry Shuster’s funeral. Kathy’s picnic tonight. 15 kids. Thelma Swisher helped me. Left about 11:30. Caroline Foos here all night.

Thursday, July 19, 1956
In & got Kathy. To shop & Perry & Hazel Shuster there. Up to Carroll’s Jewelers for Kathy’s ring & she bought ID bracelet with birthday money. We both had headaches PM. Swishers over with cross & PJs for Kathy. Deysons, Mother & Daddy & Shusters out for cake & ice cream. Beth Hanning for all night.

Wednesday, July 18, 1956
Brought Keith Brown in & picked Kathy at school. Working on 7 funerals at shop about 40 pieces. To Irene Clarks at 4:30 dug redbud trees & some shrubs. Mary Jordan stopped for visit & Nevilles here for wedding appointment.

Tuesday, July 17, 1956
David to dentist. Picked out ruby ring for Kathy’s birthday. In & got Kathy & then to shop to work. Harry Shuster died A.M. Got Pop at Barq’s & stopped at Irene Clark’s to see what trees she wanted to give me. Mowed & weeded tonight. Keith Brown here. Boys helped week iris. Mary Brocklesby got bushel of iris.

Monday, July 16, 1956
In about 11:00 & lunch at folks. Helen Romine picked me up & took me to Cora’s. I rode with Paris, Helen, Cora, Sandra, MargaretAnn to funeral & cemetery. Mother & Daddy took Kathy & David. Worked at shope from 3 to 5.

Sunday, July 15, 1956
In & made up small wedding & my rose piece for Dad Romine. Spent lazy afternoon weeding etc. In to funeral home about 8. Drove past lot at cemetery first. Home about 10:15.

Saturday, July 14, 1956
Worked all day. Home & then back to funeral home (Schaffner-Denzer) for evening. Ben Romine & Sarah LInn there among others. Dad was 68 & Cora is 80! Home about 10:30.

Friday, July 13, 1956
In at 10:30 for wedding appointment & when I was through they told me Dad Romine had died at 1:30 AM. Went over to Cora & then to Paris. Worked at shop P.M. To Hutchman’s for supper & ice cream. Kathy to drive-in with Eddie Hutchman & Cliff LaBounty. Rain.

Thursday, July 12, 1956
In at 9:30 & to shop with Kathy. Francis, Jessie Mai & Kenneth Hemmerly up from Nashville. Did 2 antique shops for lamps & to Harding Memorial. Paris stopped at noon & said Dad Romine not good – went over for a short visit. Francis – folks – Mary & Rocky & Loren Baker & Aunt Zella & Roy for picnic.

Wednesday, July 11, 1956
In & got Kathy & home for lunch. Moved furniture & cleaned her room & my room. David vomited. Cleaned workshop good & washed. Bed 1:30.
