Monday, July 30, 1956
In with truck & picked corn. Told folks I would be on vacation this week & only call me in emergency. Home & worked in yard. Transplanted peonies & used sod near greenhouse for paths. Mary Jordan & Nancy over about 8:30. David popped corn for us.

Sunday, July 29, 1956
Home until 11 then in to do Anne Spencer’s wedding. Wedding ring bokays & trouble with a white orchid. To Mt. Gilead at 5:30 – Supper at Spencer’s & then to church. Everyone very complimentary. Stayed for reception. Home at 11:00 & Kathy & Bob Swisher, Jerry & Barb Gorby trying to make ice cream. Kathy had vesper service at Mohican.

Saturday, July 28, 1956
Got raspberries – Orchid from Hughes & aisle cloths from Peerless before going to shop. Mary Matson & Kathy worked all day. 2 wedding appointments. Perry-Kohlburger & Sawyer-Logan. David home from Camp all ok no more homesick. Don Bradley called Kathy about 8 & will see her later. Home about 10.

Friday, July 27, 1956
River flooding out of banks. In at 1 & Kathy well started on weddings. Took David back to camp. Mary Matson in to work on [shorthand]. Home at 4 so Kathy could practice trio. Weeded front bank & mowed. Mary & Rocky out with hemerocallis slides. Bed 10:00. Hot – 94. Storm in night.

Thursday, July 26, 1956
In at 9 & picked up Greenwood EUB wedding stuff. Permanent from Helen Leonard in her new shop $10. Home about 2 – rain! To Caledonia Bank & groceries. Weeded on front bank & in Hemorcallis bed. Mike Leonard out with us. Im at 8:30 for wedding appointment with Oberlander.

Wednesday, July 25, 1956
In at 7:30 to do Jivas-Nicolosi wedding. Back to shop at 10:00 & delivered stuff & then to cemetery to set out begonias. Made up hospital orders & loaded 3 pieces for Cardington & took over. To Scout Camp for supper. David homesick & came home with us.

Picked Kathy up at 9:30 & then to shop & worked.

Monday, July 23, 1956
Picked Kathy up at 9:30 & then to shop to see Carol Teitlebaum about wedding. Then Kathy & I off to Columbus. Stopped at Hills & Claprood & got Clover Boys (big hamburgers). Visited Aunt May. Shopped at Lazarus. Kathy got coat & I got sheets & towels & studio couch for David.

Sunday, July 22, 1956
Big wedding: Lynn Harris at Greenwood EUB at 4:30. All Daisies. Home about 6 – Daddy took David to square to go to Camp Owens at 1:00. Jean & Dutch Fail & Bill & Erma Hutchman out. Showed slides take in Hocking County.

Saturday, July 21, 1956
Took Caroline Foos home & then to work until 6:00. 2 wedding appointments. Weeded till dark. David helping Boger with hay. Mary & Rocky out. Got David’s things ready for camp. Bed 12:45.
